Information for Students

The WRDA now offers Student Memberships providing a great opportunity for the students to be involved in the organization. Regular meetings will be FREE for student members; however, some meetings may incur a small fee.

We encourage all students to join the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Annual dues for a student member with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) is $58.00.  Please visit the Academy website at for more information on student membership.

The WRDA does offer discounted fees on their meetings and clinical updates for student members of the AND.

Toni Turner: I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Dietetics at Lehman College. My experience volunteering at local hospitals has taught me to be considerate and compassionate toward individuals. My work experiences have taught me to be diligent with difficult tasks. I understand that I have a long journey ahead before I become a Registered Dietitian but I'm constantly growing and refining my craft. Beyond that I don't know exactly what the future holds for me but I do know the direction that I want to go.

Tanisha Bandoo is a student at Herbert H. Lehman College. She graduated from Westchester Community College as a Dietetic Technician in 2016. She also takes delight in learning about different cultures and cuisines. Tanisha is currently in pursuit of her bachelors degree to become a Registered Dietitian. She aspires to be a Holistic Dietitian to help individuals achieve their health goals naturally and holistically.
